Trust AGM 2023

The AGM on Saturday Oct 7th was a wonderful success and a huge thank you to all who volunteered. All who visited the stalls and attended the walks and all that came for the meeting itself. Also a big thank you to Swindon Town Football Club for the great venue.
Each year, 4 wonderful prize trophies are awarded. Information below:
Firstly, The Tony Davy Memorial Cup is awarded to the individual who submitted the most volunteer hours during the year 2022 – 2023.
The winner is Jonathan Coates (1st photo), our Engineering Director, who submitted 1,101 hours with a value of £56,353. Congratulations Jonathan for all you achieved throughout the year.
 
The Tony Davy Crystal Award is awarded in recognition of the Branch that submitted the most volunteer hours and the winning Branch is Melksham, Calne and Chippenham + Foxham & Lyneham Branch + Peterborough Arms. The Branch submitted 9,799 hours with a value of £168,187.

The second Tony Davy Crystal Award, is awarded to the Branch that most significantly increased its hours from the previous year. This goes to West Vale Branch who submitted 4,605 hours with a value of £77,114. This is an increase of 3,900 hours over the previous year. A wonderful addition to the statistics as a demonstration of the hours volunteers give to progress the Wilts & Berks Canal. Thank you.

The Final prize given is The pick of the branches. This prize is given to the branch who recruits the most new members. This is done via geographic sign up.
This was awarded to Swindon branch of which during 2022-3. 78 new members were signed up. (Photo of Chloe Ford Branch Chair).
 
For those of you who like statistics the total for the year 2022 – 2023 are:
  • Individuals contributed 6,846 hours with a value of £273,828
  • Branches contributed 26,172 hours with a value of £446,346
  • Total 33,018 hours with a value of £720,174
(Last year’s totals were 33,020 hours with a value of £633,669)
All the volunteers are to be congratulated on achieving these figures.
