Welcome to the March 2021 edition of On The Button

The first item this month is a report on the Trust's February Executive Committee meeting.

Executive Committee

The Trust's Executive Committee meets monthly to discuss & manage the Trust's day-to-day business.  A summary of issues under discussion are given, so readers are better informed not just of what's happened, but what may be round the corner.

At the March meeting the 10 year plan for the East Vale and Abingdon Branch were discussed. Preparation for after lockdown was also covered. To see more details on these and the others topics discussed click the link below.

Very sad news

Very sad news on the canal near Royal Wooton Basset; of the pair of swans that had just chosen their nesting site at Chaddington, on March 21st the female was shot & killed. Swans mate for life, with very few exceptions, making this awful incident all the more tragic. The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust is appalled by this, and is offering a £1,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of the perpetrator. Click the link below for more details.
