Royal Wootton Bassett Branch Talk

Royal Wootton Bassett Branch is organising another in our series of talks, and as it is ‘virtual’ and no-one has to travel on a wet winter’s night, it is open to all Wilts & Berks Canal Trust members.

On Monday 1st February Ian Ellis will give a virtual talk.

Wey ArunIn 1816, The Wey & Arun Junction Canal opened, linking the Wey Navigation near Guildford to the south coast via the Arun Navigation.  The Trust is working to restore the canal. Some is currently navigable, some accessible to small craft, and some unrestored, much like the Wilts & Berks.

This is a link to a map on their website, and thence to more information -  https://weyarun.org.uk/node/5

It will be interesting to hear of successes and difficulties in the progress of their project. There will be no charge for the talk but donations to the Wilts & Berks Trust at https://www.wbct.org.uk/get-involved/donate will allow us in turn to pay Ian.

The platform this time will be Zoom. The link for joining is    https://zoom.us/j/94864525736

Please contact jenny.stratton@wbct.org.uk or steve.bacon@wbct.org.uk for more details.

The talk will start at 7.30pm on Monday but the room will be open from 7.15pm.

Looking forward to ‘seeing you’
