New project funds

We have been running a special fundraising since September 2021, inviting the generous members who funded the purchase of the Peterborough Arms to convert their loans to donations to pay for post-Covid restoration projects.

This programme has been a great success, once again showing the huge generosity of our members. Over £100,000 has already been pledged and we now want to deliver on the Trust’s commitment to use the money for projects along our canal.

As a result, we are inviting our five Branches to bid for new projects costing between £10,000 and £20,000 along our route. Our intention is to have these projects defined and ready to go in the new financial year, now only two months away. Peter Wilkinson, our Head of Finance and I are working closely with Branch Chairs to get this initiative into the starting gate. Some branches have already submitted their plans.
