Since stepping into this role, I have been so impressed by the tireless efforts of our dedicated volunteers and the support that we have from the local community - whether generous donations or the purchase of books.
In the first quarter of this year, we welcomed aboard Andy and Janet, two fantastic additions to our team who have seamlessly integrated and provided invaluable extra assistance. We're still on the look-out for more volunteers to join us. Our goal is to extend our opening days to include Wednesdays and your help could make that a reality. If you or anyone you know is interested, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at stefanie.clayton@wbct.org.uk
We have had a great 2024 so far, with a significant uptick in sales and total income compared to the quieter winter period of 2023. One highlight was the generous donation of a Terry Pratchett book collection, which proved very popular and flew off our shelves.
Our volunteers also revamped some of the Visitor Centre layout to showcase our Wilts & Berks clothing collection more prominently. The collection has been restocked, too, so we now have a good selection of T-shirts, polo shirts, beanies and fleeces available. We hope to expand our range of merchandise available in the coming months.
If you are in and around Swindon, please pop in - we would love to see you. You can find us at 1 Theatre Square, close to Swindon’s central library at the top end of Regent Street.
