West Vale branch had the official opening of our new ditch crossing on Wednesday 25th April 2024 by members of the Shrivenham Parish council, with the tape being cut by Councillor Julie Jones, supported by Bob Sheldon & Bjorn Watson. Lyn Frape - Finance Officer to the council was also in attendance.

 

Shortly after the opening about 30 members of the Shrivenham Wednesday Morning Health Walkers were walking through the park and decided to use the new crossing.

 

This crossing will allow people to access the Shrivenham Canal Park via Coppidthorne Meadow rather than walking down Stainswick Lane.

 

The materials and gate were purchased with funds provided by Cala Homes, one of the companies building homes in Shrivenham.

 

This is the final of 3 new ditch crossings completed this year that have extended the options for walks within the Canal Park.
