West Vale’s Workplace Volunteering Days

Nationwide Building Society and Vodaphone are just two of the employers whose staff have volunteered at this summer’s West Vale work parties.

Groups ranging in size from 4 to 24 volunteers were kept busy on a variety of tasks such as clearing a new meadow area, tackling brambles and canal clearing.

Wednesday is work party day at West Vale and Alan Norris from the branch organises corporate volunteer visits.  Alan says: “I was delighted when some volunteers from Thames Water returned in July.  They had worked for us two years ago and remarked on the progress we had made in that time”.

Lunch is part of a day’s volunteering and recent groups have enjoyed the hospitality of the Prince of Wales pub in Shrivenham.   Volunteers are also welcome to bring their own refreshments.

West Vale has many jobs on offer depending on the time of year, number of visitors and physical ability.  Work can be arranged for a couple of hours or a full day.  All equipment and training is provided.
