Sack House Renovations Begin
October has been an action-packed month for East Vale & Abingdon branch.
As well as the usual work party activity along the tow paths, the branch has also been busy embarking on a renovation project to renovate the Sack House – the Trust’s small museum in Wantage.
The branch would like to say a big thank you to Wantage Town Council, who have been very supportive and generous - providing a grant of £500 for materials to enable the branch to give the Sack House a much-needed face lift. East Vale & Abingdon would like to thank all the volunteers who have given up their time to help with the renovation - it’s a vast improvement.
The Sack House can be found at the bottom of Mill Street opposite the flour mill. It’s open to the public on the last Saturday of the month from May to September and for special events such as Dickensian evening in December.
Talking of which, the branch look forward to seeing you at the Dickensian evening on Friday 6th December from 6pm.
