Back in January, on a crisp sunny day, Peggy-Sue started off the first of her 5 walking challanges, by walking a half marathon of 21km in London on the Winter Walk, from The Oval in Vauxhall, to Putney Bridge, and back in a loop.
Then in April, it was time for the Easter Walk, 25km from Windsor Racecourse, to Runnymede along the Thames Path, before looping round to the take on the Long Walk towards Windsor Castle and Windsor Racecourse. The route was quite muddy in places, and she completed the whole route in wellington boots!
There was then a break, before the third challenge of the London 25km Summer Walk in August. The route started at Woolwich Barracks, taking you under the Thames, towards London City Airport, back under the Thames to the Cutty Sark before heading back to Woolwich Barracks.
Then 3 weeks later, in September, another 25km in London, this time the Thames Bridges on a warm and sunny day. Starting from Putney and finishing at Bermondsey, criss-crossing the Thames over all the Bridges in between.
Last week, in October, it was the final challenge in London, and the turn of the 25km Halloween Walk whilst dressed as a Pirate, the only walk in late afternoon, another 25km from The Oval in Vauxhall, to Tower Bridge and back, passing the South Bank, the London Eye, Aldgate, Tower of London, Westmister and Big Ben.
