Keeping Councillors Informed, Swindon is first port of call

For our ambitious project, the largest canal restoration in England, to succeed we need the understanding and backing of hundreds of stakeholders. Prominent among these are local councillors, who need to understand our objectives so they can back us. We have started a campaign to brief every County, Borough and Parish councillor on our plans and how their delivery will affect their electorates. We have mailed all 57 Borough Councillors in Swindon and have received supportive responses from all who replied. It is very important that your elected representatives have a clear picture of the benefits that our blue-green corridor will bring to their communities. This is an important step in winning their support for the public benefit.
