On a fine Boxing Day morning, fifty people took the opportunity of a brief opening of the towpath at Studley Grange.
It is still classified as a work site so it is not accessible by the public. Volunteers led groups of up to ten people walking to the end of the towpath and back. For some people, who had been unable to get to the AGM, it was their first sight of the restored canal, trying out the seats and looking at the interpretation boards, rubbing plates and leaning posts.
Thanks to Steve Bacon for organising and to all those who were involved in the pre-walk preparations.
